​In 1957, the OM (Officine Meccaniche ) decided to expand the range of trucks with “zoological” names and began to introduce the Tigrotto (baby tiger), a vehicle similar to the Leoncino (baby lion) but longer and more robust, suitable for the toughest tasks. It was produced in 4 series for different applications, also equipped with a fire engine. The engine was an OM CO3, four-cylinder diesel engine power of 104 horsepower at 2300 rpm regime , which allowed him to reach a top speed of 80 km/h.
