Miki Biasion at Fiat Industrial Village

Professional racer Miki Biasion is preparing to compete in the latest edition of the world-renowned Dakar. On the eve of his departure for the rally in South America, he visited Fiat Industrial Village in Turin for a final appointment with Iveco to define the remaining details of their collaboration.

Sitting aboard a New Trakker, Biasion expressed his excitement for the challenge that lies ahead for both him and his vehicle, “this truck is recognized for its reliability even in extreme situations such as the Dakar.” He also spoke of the importance of his fellow team members, stressing that: “teamwork is crucial: the value of having a strong team working alongside you is what makes Dakar special. The onboard team functions as three independent units in the same workspace: a pilot must obviously be capable of operating their vehicle through difficult situations, the navigator has to pinpoint the best route and the mechanic must keep all of the vehicle’s technical aspects under control by using the proper tools.”

Dakar 2013 sets off on 5 January from Peru, crossing through Argentina and finishing in Chile. Iveco and Fiat Industrial Village wish Miki Biasion the best of luck!
