CityLog & CityMove at Fiat Industrial Village

On Tuesday 18 December, Fiat Industrial Village hosted the final “CityLog & CityMove” events. The two projects were launched in 2010 by the European Commission with the aim of improving the sustainability and efficiency in delivering goods to urban areas through integrated management and the use of innovative transportation vehicles.

Iveco, CRF (Fiat Research Centre), Volvo and TNT were among the principal CityLog & City Move project participants. They were recognised by Massimo Marciani, President of FIT Consulting, Natasha Lai, a Project Officer with the European Commission and Julies Menge from the Senate of Berlin who presented the results which were achieved throughout the course of the project.

Activities such as track tests supervised by leading logistics experts also took place during the event. These tests gave participants the opportunity to see the Bentobox and the Transhipment Area, two innovative tools that streamline the process of transport distribution and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in the city.
